1. Download VMware Workstation Player:
    • Visit the VMware website and download the latest version of VMware Workstation Player based on your operating system (Windows, Linux, or macOS).
  2. Install VMware Workstation Player:
    • Run the installer you downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
    • Once installed, launch VMware Workstation Player and familiarize yourself with the interface.
  3. Create a New Virtual Machine:
    • Open VMware Workstation Player.
    • Click on “Create a New Virtual Machine” or go to File > New Virtual Machine.
    • Choose “Typical (recommended)” for the configuration type.
    • Select “Installer disc image file (iso)” and browse to the location where you have the Windows Server 2022 ISO file.
    • Click “Next” and follow the prompts to set up the virtual machine:
      • Assign a name to your virtual machine.
      • Specify the location where you want to store the virtual machine files.
      • Set the maximum disk size (recommended at least 60 GB).
      • Customize hardware settings (e.g., memory, CPU cores, network adapter).
  4. Install Windows Server 2022:
    • Click “Finish” to create the virtual machine.
    • Power on the virtual machine.
    • The Windows Server 2022 installation process will begin.
    • Select “Install now” when prompted.
    • Choose the standard evaluation edition and accept the license terms.
    • Set up your password and security questions when prompted.
    • Once the installation is complete, you’ll be directed to the Windows Server desktop.
  5. Install VMware Tools (Optional but recommended):
    • In the VMware Workstation Player menu, go to VM > Install VMware Tools.
    • Follow the instructions to install VMware Tools:
      • Adjusts screen resolution automatically.
      • Enables clipboard sharing (copy and paste) between host and guest.
      • Enables drag and drop functionality.
